Pregnant and New Parents’ Get Togethers

The club began with mums meeting informally in each others homes. These meet ups continue to be a vital source of moral support and practical tips. Our members find them invaluable both in pregnancy and during their first year—partners/husbands are welcome too! They take place wherever we live, from East Finchley and Muswell Hill to Tufnell Park and Finsbury Park. PNPs are currently monthly—subject to hosts being available. We are always looking for people to host so please get in touch if you would like to be involved – your address is not given out until people book in so you can limit the number of people who can come to suit the space you have available. You can choose the date and time to suit you (as long as it doesn’t clash with our fortnightly group – see below).

Fortnightly Baby & Toddler Group at St Michael’s, N6

hcetc_portrait_010A chance to get support and advice from other parents over tea and biscuits while the babies and toddlers play (£1 for tea and treats fund). Books about twin pregnancy and parenting are available. Carol Wood who runs the group has qualified as a Tamba Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. Held on Thursdays 10am–noon at St Michael’s Church, Pond Square, South Grove, Highgate village, N6 6BJ (basement entrance to left of main church door). Parking outside. Buses 214, 210, 143.

Children’s Parties

hcetc_portrait_011There are free parties for members’ children throughout the year. At Christmas there’s one at St Michael’s featuring a children’s entertainer, and in summer we have held picnics at CUFOS in N10 and in Priory Park in N8. Not forgetting the annual teddy bear’s picnic in Highgate Woods and Halloween and Easter dressing up at the St Michael’s group.

Social Events

hcetc_portrait_013We take it in turns to host Twin Mums Drinks and Twin Dad Drinks in our local pubs. Ideas for other events you’d like to organise would be welcomed.

More ideas are always welcome! This is a member-run club, so if our members want to organise any event, they can!
